Loading Tables

The following loading tables assume evenly-distributed, static loads on steel (zinc-plated, galvanized, or stainless) components.  Consult your E-Z Shelving product specialist if your application calls for extra-heavy, concentrated, or dynamic loading.  Download loading tables in PDF.

Single Shelf

A “single” shelf is supported by two single brackets and has no adjacent shelves.  Each bracket contributes its full loading capacity to the shelf.  One set up uprights will support full loading of multiple bracket/shelf sets.

End Shelf

An “end” shelf is supported by one single and one double bracket. The single bracket contributes its full loading capacity to the end shelf. The double bracket splits its loading capacity between the end shelf and the adjacent shelf.

Interior Shelf

An “interior” shelf is supported by two double brackets. Each double bracket splits its loading capacity between adjacent shelves.  Consult your E-Z Shelving product specialist about installing uprights side by side when increased loading capacity is required for interior shelves.
